“I alone cannot change the world,
but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples.”
– Mother Teresa
Today I cast that stone, hoping that you all will choose to join me in creating the ripples, leading to waves of change for the future.
As parents of children with MCADD (well, as parents of children in general) we all have questions….we all have concerns and anxieties and pray that we can do the best for our children. MCADD adds a layer of complexity, especially for those like me with a “type A” personality. I have decided to turn this personality trait (some might call it a flaw….I prefer to stick with “trait”) into an opportunity. An opportunity for me to get to know those of you that walk in shoes similar to mine. Hence the introduction to Minutes Matter – MCADD. Welcome!
Minutes Matter – MCADD is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of newborns by advocating to prevent delays in the detection of MCADD through timely newborn screening, by raising awareness of the disorder through education, and to offering a community of support for those diagnosed with and affected by MCADD.
This is a blog for our Minutes Matter community, our friends and our family that are touched by MCADD, whether by knowing someone with MCADD or simply having a special place in your heart for all of those living with MCADD. We will share Minutes Matter in the news. When you speak at an event, host a Minutes Matter fundraiser or share your own personal experience publicly, please forward photos and information to us so that we can share with our followers. Our blog will also serve as a tool to updating you on newsworthy articles regarding newborn screening, pending legislation or advocacy efforts that we all should be aware of and have the opportunity to support.
We hope you’ll follow our blog, join our cause, and help us save lives!
